Actually the more I think about it @hililiwei, the convention we use is to try to return a usable Scala object from Java (at least in the spark side of the codebase, which is arguably more Scala native than Flink). I can take a crack at giving it a try for the basics or potentially show you how, perhaps if you wanted to reach out on Slack. Are you in the Iceberg Slack? Feel free to also reach out to the dev list too, but that's almost certainly the preferred approach if possible. I think it should be possible here as well, though it might require some trickery that you may or may not be used to seeing.
