There are also gradle plugins to support multiple Scala versions from the same module if we want to try those. I thought it was too complicated for the current build, since we only support 2.12 at the moment. We can put that off until later. Agreed. I looked into some of the plugins, but there didn't seem to be a clear winner / most commonly used one. So given that there's only the one version I figured I'd let it be for now.
