A HashMap is O(1) look up performance, but that doesn't mean it's
"instantaneous". Internally there are lots of if tests and hashcode
calculations etc.
I've not seen any benchmark {{HashMap}} vs {{if-else}}.
Now we have only ~30 comparisons of references. The fact that performance will
be with {{HashMap}} usage with the {{Class}} as a key is not obvious to me.
