I'm a bit worried with your patch because it does not really handle the full
feature definitions. Mostly feature dependencies for example.
I'm worried because people may expect things to work and they will have to be
raised as bugs, hence the code is bound to become more complex over time,
because people will rightfully expect things to work as they usually do.
