--------------------------------

Hi [~adar],

Thanks for your support :) , yes, actually, we have done some modifications in
Kudu to support running on aarch64 server in our private testing, we hope push
these to Kudu community. And also, we are pleasure to provide some ARM
resources(VMs provide by public cloud) and help to build the ARM CI as the long
term aarch64 support ensurance. I found that Kudu use
Gerrit([https://gerrit.cloudera.org/#/q/status:open+project:kudu]) as code
review board and use Jenkins([http://jenkins.kudu.apache.org/]) as CI system, I
am not sure if this jenkins also using resources of Apache Infra, since we have
also proposed donating ARM resources to Apache Infra, see:
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/INFRA-19369 not sure if Kudu can use the
resources. We have also maintance an *OpenLab
CI*([http://status.openlabtesting.org/status]) which also support being
integrated with Gerrit as 3rd party CI system.

Thanks!

> As an import alternative of x86 architecture, Aarch64(ARM) architecture  is
> currently the dominate architecture in small devices like phone, IOT devices,
> security cameras, drones etc. And also, there are more and more hadware or
> cloud vendor start to provide ARM resources, such as AWS, Huawei, Packet,
> Ampere. etc. Usually, the ARM servers are low cost and more cheap than x86
> servers, and now more and more ARM servers have comparative performance with
> x86 servers, and even more efficient in some areas.
> We want to propose to add an Aarch64 CI for KUDU to promote the support for
> KUDU on Aarch64 platforms. We are willing to provide machines to the current
> CI system and manpower to mananging the CI and fxing problems that occours.
