Having the convenience of the admin UI has led us to neglect our APIs. If the
UI shows everything nicely by firing ugly API commands internally, why should
someone step up and design better APIs? Getting rid of the UI will forced those
committers, who are inconvenienced, to help us shape the best possible API
design. V2 APIs is a good start, but more needs to be done to make it a first
class citizen. And if admin UI is really needed, then it can be pulled in from
an external repository.
