   I totally agree with this, Variants like single-layer HNSW also make sense 
for faster builds and more merge-friendly segments. In contrast, cluster-based 
approaches (IVF / partition-first / SPANN-like) are a better fit for 
billion-scale datasets, highly selective filters, and remote or tiered storage.
