There were two places (announce message and website) listed in the original
issue where the download details need to appear.
Your comment only mentioned the announce message; I took the word "sufficient"
to mean that it was only necessary to mention the download in the announce, not
on the website.
I see now that "sufficient" was intended to relate only to the message content,
not the issue as a whole.
The current download page for maven-compiler-plugin looks fine to me; it has an
obvious Download link and the download page looks fine as well.
I think it would be fine for the announce message to contain a link to the
download page.
Alternatively, the message could just contain a link to the website and note
that the source can be obtained via the Download link on the website.
