The difference here is that we will no more support these deprecated parameters
but they will fail the build. Sure, it would be nice to remove them from the
docs though.
In my experience end users will upgrade and check if things work. Depending on
what the param config does it might not be obvious that that support was
removed. Failing the build will make it obvious.
