Do you mean that you will not be expanding properties defined in profiles and
referenced in other elements; or do you mean all properties defined in profiles
and referenced anywhere in settings.xml?
If the latter, I can guarantee that there a lot of users would be banging their
heads and try to make it work, as many people assume that what they read in a
book must be true. In this case, just to limit the damage, I would suggest that
you contact Mergere so they can amend the book.
