It seems the name of that property is going to change. The Configuration Options for the [latest 1.x version](https://maven.apache.org/resolver-archives/resolver-LATEST-1.x/configuration.html) of the Artifact Resolver lists the property as `aether.connector.http.useSystemProperties`, while the [very latest version](https://maven.apache.org/resolver-archives/resolver-LATEST/configuration.html) lists the property as `aether.transport.apache.useSystemProperties`.
