Yes, Resolver 2.x did a "clean up" of properties (long digression: historically there was only "connector", that was in Aether 1.1 split onto "connector" and "transport", and proxy usage is in transport, while many properties in Resolver 1.x remained as "connector", etc). Currently, Maven 3.x line uses Resolver 1.x lineage, and Maven 4.x line uses Resolver 2.x lineage.
