### Description Tracks porting the Maven shared components from the Maven 3 API (`MavenProject`, `org.apache.maven.artifact`, `maven-compat`) to the Maven 4 API at 4.0.0-rc-7. The aim is to measure impact before any release: what ports cleanly, where the v4 API has no equivalent, and which components are better retired than ported. Each component gets a draft PR from an `agent/mvn4-api` branch that builds with Maven 4 only (`maven4-build: true`, version taken from the `maven-gh-actions-shared@v5` default). Findings for each component are kept in one comment below, updated as the work moves; this table is the summary. maven-archiver and maven-filtering master are already on the Maven 4 API and serve as the reference. | Component | Maven 3 imports | PR | Status | |---|---|---|---| | maven-reporting-exec | 21 | | not started | | maven-common-artifact-filters | 16 | | not started | | maven-dependency-analyzer | 14 | | not started | | maven-dependency-tree | 12 | | not started | | maven-reporting-impl | 8 | | not started | | maven-shared-jar | 4 | | not started | | maven-mapping | 1 | | not started | | maven-reporting-api | `MavenReport` interfaces | | not started | | maven-shared-utils | 0 | | CI only | | maven-file-management | 0 | | CI only | | maven-invoker | 0 | | CI only | | maven-jarsigner | 0 | | CI only | | maven-script-interpreter | 0 | | CI only | | maven-shared-resources | 0 | | CI only | | maven-archiver | done | | CI still pins rc-6 | | maven-filtering | done | | CI still pins rc-6 | Out of scope: maven-verifier (superseded by maven-executor), maven-shared-incremental (retirement vote open), maven-shared-io (retired). The CI change supersedes apache/maven-dependency-tree#145 and apache/maven-shared-resources#87, which add Maven 4 to the matrix without making it the only build.
