### Affected version 3.10.0 ### Bug description The [`status`](https://github.com/apache/maven/blob/00a35a93778837dc76da598c23f2af241329e9e8/api/maven-api-model/src/main/mdo/maven.mdo#L1549) field doesn't seem to be maintained by anything in Maven 3 or later – there are some references in the code I've searched, but just to copy the `status` element that was there from an existing DistributionManagement. The [documentation](https://maven.apache.org/pom.html#status) (for both Maven 3 and 4) seems to imply that this field would have been updated in the deployment, publish, or even installation lifecycles – my guess is that this field is some idea conceived in Maven 2 and then abandoned.
