Fixed in `86f26c88`. The selected versioned descriptor now stays on the module path while the dependency output directory is added with `--patch-module`, so downstream modules retain access to exported classes. The integration test now imports and calls `sample.a.Api`, restricts execution to JDK 9+, and verifies the generated classes and descriptors. The resolver now returns a new list instead of mutating a `Collection`. `mvn clean -Prun-its -Dinvoker.test=MCOMPILER-1137 verify` passed with 49 unit tests and the selected integration test; Checkstyle, Spotless, RAT and `git diff --check` passed.
