Two defaults that tripped up repositories using `maven-verify.yml`: - `ff-goal` and `verify-goal` default to `-P run-its verify`, and Maven 4 fails on a requested profile the project does not define, so every repository without a `run-its` profile had to override both goals once it enabled Maven 4. The default is now `-P "?run-its" verify`; the optional-profile syntax passes on Maven 3.9.16, 3.10.0 and 4.0.0-rc-7, and the quotes keep the shell from globbing `?`. - A `matrix-include` entry without a `maven` key ran with an empty Maven version. It now uses the fail-fast build's Maven. Verified: a project without a `run-its` profile calling this branch with Maven 4 enabled and a `matrix-include` entry without `maven` → all jobs green, Maven 4.0.0-rc-7 cells included, and the extra entry built with Maven 3.10.0. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
