Part of #1759. The 40 verify scripts that still threw `Exception` or `RuntimeException` from `if` blocks now use `assert` with the same messages, so a failure shows the expression and its values. In `copy-from-remote-repository` and `unpack-from-remote-repository` the message referred to an out-of-scope `file` variable; a failing check there would have reported a `MissingPropertyException`. Verified: `mvn -P run-its verify` → 114 ITs pass; inverting one assert in `filterunpack`, `resolve-plugins-with-exclude`, `analyze-testDependencyWithNonTestScope` and `copy-from-remote-repository` fails each with its message. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
