slachiewicz opened a new pull request, #1786: URL: https://github.com/apache/maven-site/pull/1786
maven.apache.org sends no `Cache-Control` for any file, so a browser decides on its own how long to reuse a cached copy; for a file that had not changed in a long time, that can be days. After #1780 changed `css/site.css`, a phone showed the new home page with the old stylesheet an hour after publishing. CSS and JavaScript files now get `Cache-Control: no-cache`: the browser keeps them but checks for a new version on each use, which the existing `ETag` answers with a `304 Not Modified` when nothing changed. HTML and other files are unchanged. The rule sits in `<IfModule mod_headers.c>`, like the `Cache-Control` rules other ASF sites (Camel, HBase, Lucene) already serve from their `.htaccess`. Verified: the rendered site in Apache httpd 2.4 with `AllowOverride All` → `css/site.css` and the Fluido JavaScript come with `Cache-Control: no-cache`, `index.html` without it; a request with the ETag gets 304; `/download.html` still redirects (301) to `/download.cgi`. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
