Right now we're doing this via kraken. It's unclear how long that library will
be maintained and it doesn't let us expose higher layer metadata when
filtering.
This may have some performance implication (on the read-side, not the write
side), but it will get us a much richer set of fields to filter on. Since
we're filtering via stellar, the filtering shouldn't be a problem.
