With Fastcapa, the `-s` command line option will write detailed statistics from
the Kafka client library to an external file. This file can get rather larger
depending on how frequently you have `statistics.interval.ms` set.
The code should be updated to properly roll the file and handle faults. There
is probably a nice logging lib that could handle this for us.
