David Handermann commented on NIFI-15391:
-----------------------------------------

Thanks for providing the patch [~l_kinley]. Although the project has supported
patches as a method of contribution in past years, the recommended path to
contribute is now through a pull request in GitHub.

Although the historical implementation of the User Group Provider had some
usage, it may be better to consider this as a module that is maintained
external to the Apache NiFi project, given the focus on Microsoft Graph. As it
is also possible to integrate group membership through token claims, it raises
some question about the best integration approach. Is there a particular reason
for continuing to use the User Group Provider instead of passing groups in a
token claim with OpenID Connect integration?
