Chris Sampson commented on NIFI-14205:
--------------------------------------

[~dstiegli1] good question and thanks for asking. I suspect the ordering could
have changed since I raised the initial ticket as nifi has since migrated to
the newer aws sdk.

The suggested case-insensitive alphabetical ordering seems sensible. Unless
there's an easy way of grouping entries by geographical location that doesn't
already happen, e.g. {{Mexico, Middle East, South America}} seems a little
confusing **but** the alphabetical order does allow for one to easily find
their region.

> The `AWS Region` drop-downs in the UI show the values in a seemingly random
> order (i.e. not alphabetical, nor even grouped).
> It would seem sensible to change the values in the list to be sorted by
> (display) name, making it easier for users to navigate through the list.
> Affects multiple (all?) AWS based components, e.g. GetSQS, ListS3, AWS
> Credentials Provider.
