            Bug ID: 121840
        Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: MS Office files have monochromatic mime type icons
    Classification: Code
           Product: General
           Version: AOO 3.4.1
          Hardware: PC
                OS: Windows 7
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: trivial
          Priority: P3
         Component: code
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
                CC: [email protected]

I installed the latest version of OOo (3.4.1) and have the following problem:
all files that were created using MS Office are displayed with the 3.2 version
monochromatic icons.

Unfortunately, windows 7 don't have an option for manually changing the icons
for files, so after lots of hours of searching I managed to work around the
problem using a icon editor that can modify exe files and modified soffice.exe
icon groups in a way that MS files are also displayed with the colored OOo
icons. I attach the modified exe for anyone that wishes to use it.

I have to say that I am really frustrated because of this, as I have learned
through the long hour internet search that the monochromatic icons were
strongly disliked by people and OOo revered back the colored ones, but didn't
take the time to do so for non-odf files.
