I do have MS > WordPad as part of W7 so I will try and replicated the situation by saving > from OO as a .doc and opening/printing with WordPad. Will advise. Wordpad was a no starter - so I downloaded the Portable version of Abiword. It opened the ODT and displayed it correctly in it's print dialogue as having a "custom" size of 8.5" x 5.5" - The Cannon printer driver preview pane also displayed correctly - so yes the printer is definitely advertising the custom paper size to other applications.
