When you activate the chart, you are in the so-called in-place editing of the OLE object, you are now in Chart, that's why you see all the elements of Chart's user interface (toolbars, menubar, status bar); the slide pane is not part of it, of course. > Bottom line this is not looking good. This is how it has been since always.
