The problem only appears to happen during the initial Save/Save As attempt. Once the file has an established file path, the Save command seems to work just fine. Also, in my attempts to force a shutdown a few minutes ago, OOo unhung and presented me with a the Save As dialogue box, which allowed me to save the file I was working on even though OOo ended up crashing after the file was saved.
