--- Comment #3 from darwinbot <[email protected]> ---
@ALG: my ui is in Italian, so maybe the English version is not 'paste as Paint
Image', but it's the first option in the paste special window/menu of *only
three* options: the above mentioned 'Paint Image', 'GDI Metafile' and 'Bitmap';
double-clicking on the pasted image in Writer opens it in Paint rather than the
object properties.
I tried with a different image--just a doodle drawn in Paint--and the that
option gives a square image which is simply the deformed original, i.e. no
parts of the original Paint image are missing, it's just the proportions of
what is pasted that are wrong. Hope this is comprehensible!

I understand what you're saying about bitmaps getting AAed in the copy-paste
process, and I wouldn't have really noticed it or called it necessarily a bug,
had it not been for the particular image attached to bug 84905; but now that I
know the underlying workings, I will keep it in mind if I ever need such a
clear-cut pixel-for-pixel image--go with vector objects! Thanks for the tip.

p.s. using Rev. 1524958
