andrixnet <[email protected]> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|RESOLVED |UNCONFIRMED Resolution|NOT_AN_ISSUE |--- --- Comment #2 from andrixnet <[email protected]> --- For a purisitc point of view, I can see why this might be categorized as "NOT_AN_ISSUE". However, I beg to differ. First, having set the measurement units for OpenOffice in the 'General" section would implicitly imply that those units will be applied everywhere. Second, any software should take the system LOCALE and apply all those settings, including the system level customizations. - If the software offers the posibility to work internally with different LOCALE settings, then it should use the system LOCALE as installation default and runtime default, unless the user changes it. - Also, the settings dialog should have a separate option for "system setting", besides the built in ones. Third, why is there a measurement unit setting if for some functionalities, while for some others, it imposes a certain measurement unit? Example: I work with mm in documents, I use custom sized pages. Why must I be forced to use cm in the print dialog, and not mm ? (regardless the fact that this example names the metric system which uses multiples of 10) It is either a bug, or a feature request. Please assign accordingly.
