Currently, EndNote is compatible only with Open Office 3.x and not with 4.x. This information is provided in our EndNote system requirements page at http://endnote.com/en/requirements. This issue has been reported to our development team and they are working on this issue. At present we do not have an estimated time on when EndNote will be compatible for OpenOffice 4.x I am sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. At this time, please use the supported version of OpenOffice 3.x.
