           Summary: Software was running, but after "Windows Update" it
                    would not function. I reinstalled the software and
                    Windows would not load. "Security Essentials" restored
                    the computer to a point before this latest
                    installation.

Consequently, I restored Windows anew and now am able to run OpenOffice again,
but I am currently foregoing Windows updates because I do not know which update
is canceling out OpenOffice. Please let me know what I can do. Thank you.
