I have never in the over 10 years I have been using OpenOffice ever set the mail-merge settings in writer and have never had a problem using the File->Send functions until now. I just set those in v4.1.0 and they had no effect what so ever on the problem. It still tells me that it cannot find a functioning e-mail program. I have restored v4.0.1 and it sends flawlessly with no properties set in Tools->Options->OpenOffice Writer->Mail Merge.
