          Hardware: All
                OS: Windows 7

Sample Document

Steps how to reproduce with "AOO 4.1.0 Release – German UI / German locale
[AOO410m18(Build:9764) - Rev. 1589052 2014-04-22 11:43:54]" on German WIN7
Home Premium (64bit)", “historic” 4. User Profile used for all predecessor
versions

1. Select all Table 1 → <control+c> for copy → Open new Calc document →
Click B2 in new Calc document → <control+v> for paste
Bug: F4:F5 shows 2 separate cells, no longer merged :-(
2. Select all Table 2 → <control+c> for copy → Switch to Calc document →
Click M10 in Calc document → <control+v> for paste
   > Q12:R12 correctly shows a merged cell

Additional Info:
(a) Already reproducible with OOo 3.1.1 (more early not tested)
(b) All the same with LibO 4.2
(c) Easy workaround: merge in Calc
(d) I haven't a clue whether the problem is in Writer or in Calc or
    elsewhere.
