That it doesn't crash on 64 bit JVM is a good sign I think. I'm not ure the problem is with the plugin itself but possibly with Java or Windows but I will try to help find out. Can you list exact steps from creating the project that lead to the message you mentioned? In the mean time I'll see if I can get a Win 8.1 VM running to test with.
