Yes, the file name really is 'Blank'. Example of the File Save As problem.

I opened an .xls file, made some edits and then selected Save As. Changed to an
ODS extension and clicked Save. The save button 'flashes' but nothing happens.

I tried to save as an XLS extension with the same effect.

Turning off Automatic file name extension allowed me to save it.

Ah Ha!, I says to myself, I found a work around.

I start writing this post. I decide to try to clear out all the data so I can
post a sample here and using my 'work-around I save it. So far so good.

But before I post it I decide to test the new sheet to see if it exhibits the
same problem. It does not. Now unchecking 'Automatic file name extension' has
no effect.

One last thing to check. I edit the file so that the File --> Save icon become
un-greyed-out and click it. IT WORKS. Close and reopen (using Recent Files) and
File --> Save As still fails.

But wait! There is more! The file was saved with NO extension! When I try to
open it directly from Windows Explorer I get the 'What application do you want
to use' prompt, select CALC, and it opens.

Clear as mud?

This may be unrelated, and I am not sure I can articulate the other behavior
just yet. But when I have this problem I also have difficulty navigating to
other folder. But let's do one at a time.
