--- Comment #4 from tanstaafl <[email protected]> --- Hi Oliver, Thanks very much for considering this! Our users will be dancing in the streets... ;) (In reply to Oliver-Rainer Wittmann from comment #3) > @tanstaafl: > I am not against to bring back the 'old' input dialog - may be in an > improved mode with 'Previous' and 'Next' buttons. I like the idea very much, as long as when an individual field is dbl-clicked, it is the field that was double clicked that opens up in the pop-up edit mode, instead of starting with the first field, as it does now (so the user doesn't have to start cycling through them to find the one they want to edit). > But I would also like to understand what features are missing in the > in-place editing mode compared to the 'old' input dialog. What hinders the > users from using the in-place editing mode? It isn't really a matter of missing features, it is more a matter of personal preference. I have known about how Word allows in-place editing of these fields, and I have always much preferred Openoffice's pop-up editor to Words in-line editor. Many people (but not all by any stretch) that I turn on to Openoffice feel the same way. That said, I have worked with just as many who much prefer the in-line way, and indeed I heard lots of rejoicing from them when your work landed... :) Thanks again for your hard work! -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the issue.
