Here's to clarify the comment that confuses you.

When you chrome and download a file, the file download appears at the bottom of
the browser. (When this shows complete, it's linking to a file that *is saved*
to local storage typically in ~/Downloads/ )

If you click on the completed download to open the file (like you would with a
completed file in Firefox or a file manager application) the issue appears. I'm
starting to believe it's more how Chrome is quoting or escaping the file name
as if I do it from PCManFM it doesn't seem to interpret each space as the end
of a file name, but keeps the full name in tact. I'll move my issue over to the
Chrome support.
