It is like Regine said already: It's up to you to choose the font you want to
see. So, when you are happy with "Times New Roman" but a single character
cannot be recognized easily, then you have to find an own solution - e.g.,
choosing another font that is better for this character or for all in general.

Fonts are coming from the system and OpenOffice is just using them. It's not
possible to change and customized them. So, it's not a problem that OpenOffice
or we as project can help you with.

You can also ask for help on the users forum. Maybe others had a similar
problem and could tell what to do:
