Well.. thanks for your comments.
Obviously you can't repair the issue or perhaps you don't understand that
having a letter el in the English language is not a customization but a
normalization. 

Mac (Apple) is an American company.  They recognize that there is a difference
between the number one and the letter el and so they use different symbols for
each in Times New Roman.

Regina, I only typed 1l to show you that the letter el is shown as a larger
number one.
Unicode looks interesting but I don't have time to learn how to use it for just
one letter.
(Currently I'm being taught to use L for litre) 

Perhaps I will check out the forum when my life isn't sufficiently challenging.
  Perhaps they won't try to teach me how to code to correct the error or a
second issue that's there too.

I'll try somewhere else, thank you.
