Issue ID: 126643
Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: Saving old MS Word docs without making them read-only
Product: Writer
Version: 4.1.2
Hardware: PC
OS: Windows 7
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: Major
Priority: P5 (lowest)
Component: save-export
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
I have an old MS-Word file containing on-line user ID's and passwords.
Naturally it is password protected. I opened it with OpenOffice Writer, entered
the password and saved it as an OpenOffice document, and when I opened it again
in OpenOffice, it came up as 'read-only' and would not let me change this. I
wound up copying it and pasting the contents into a new OpenOffice document and
now it works normally.
Is there a bug here? Does it have anything to do with the fact that the
original file was password protected? I have opened other old MSWord docs not
password protected and saved them into OOWriter format and not seen this same
issue.
