          Issue ID: 126855
        Issue Type: DEFECT
Summary: major disruption on system following upgrade to 4.1.2
           Product: Installation
           Version: 4.1.2
          Hardware: PC
                OS: Windows 7
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: Major
          Priority: P5 (lowest)
         Component: ui
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]

Immediately upon installing the upgrade:
1. my system slowed to a crawl.
2. a previously created Writer document would not open.
Looking in Task Manager, multiple instances of Writer and OO were open
processes,
   but no document would open.
3. Same thing with Chrome
Multiple processes for Chrome were going, but would not open the program.
CPU and Memory usage were very low too.
4. Restarted the system, The OS would close and re-open, but it took a very,
very long
   time.
5. Trying to use the Start Menu, it grayed out, and crashed Windows Explorer.
6. Restarted the system a second time - all the same problems as listed above,
but the
Start menu would now working, slowly.
7. Went back to a restore point, before the 4.1.2 installation. Now.
8. the OS is back to it's speedy self.
9. I can open and use Chrome again, so I'm here writing this.
10. OpenOffice, can't say what version, because although the program is still
on my
Start Menu, it can no longer find the "specified file" and won't open.

I'm going to completely uninstall OpenOffice now. I'm still a big fan,
supporter, and user, but I'm now forced to uninstall it (unless I can repair it
somehow), and I'm wary, at least for now, of trying to install the latest
OpenOffice. Maybe I'll get brave again soon and try again on another day.

But 4.2.1 seems to have a major problem.
