I followed simply the description in comment 0. I can confirm the behaviour
under Linux/Ubuntu 64.
> Choose Format > Print Ranges > Edit. Click in the dropdown by the Rows to

When one click at the entry "- user-defined -" the listbox goes back to "- none
-".
Workaround: To select the entry "- user-defined -" use the scrollwheel or the
cursor keys.
