Have reinstalled Open Office but problem persists - cannot even open the application to check Java or other settings. Before this hard fail, it crashed when closing files and other random events. Opened with terminal.app using /Applications/OpenOffice.app/Contents/MacOS/soffice -writer That at least opens.... can see Java 1.8.0_112 (twice) but neither is selected.
