Pedro wrote to me: "I have figured out the solution (and the cause). I had a tablet driver installed (a Wacom Bamboo). Even though the tablet itself was not connected, all tablet features were enabled. When AOO (and LO) detects such a driver it doesn't allow the "Support assistive technology tools (program restart required)" option to be unchecked. Removing the driver solved the problem."
