There remains huge issues with components, such as Writer, not being able to
see the printer driver and its parameters. This has caused many issues, such
as 111718, 29924, 31619, 42185, 79865 and 109427, to name but just a few.
This problems affects the functionality of the applications. They do not know
what the printer can do, and so they cannot display in WYSIWYG reality. Worse
yet, they will never be able to print as the user desires.
Page layout is continually wrong, and even envelopes fail to print correctly.
Solving this programming flaw will cut out a very large number of bug reports
and support requests.
The programmers' focus upon this issue needs to become a top priority in this
point in time. While I am not a programmer, I can easily explain what steps
need to be accomplished in the code to solve this particular issue.
