I need to be able to delete/hide unused languages (see forum ref below).

Enable the <status bar>Language feature/option in Calc that is available in
Writer.
When choosing to (use/change/switch between) Spanish and/or English I have to
scroll through ALL the other languages in between.
I chose to NOT install all languages except English and Spanish, but they all
show up anyway.
