Screenshoots of conducted tests
This issue extends issue 128289. All credits for introducing term "optical
glitch" go to Mr. Matthias Seidel.
Please notice that I've tested AOO behaviour for some time in various
combinations and the results differ to some degree. Moreover AOO forced me to
divide my test into separate sub-tests because only then effects were
reproducible and comparable. In many instances I even had to close and reopen
AOO to start test procedure afresh ("clean slate").
Therefore be advised that initial conditions for any test below really matter.
In attached image you will see what I mean by "clean slate" (picture on the top
left, in green frame):
- new document
- shape converted to bitmap, selected
- Picture toolbar docked
--------- TEST no. 1 ---------------------------------------------
1. in Impress or Draw open new document and draw a shape
2. Convert it to bitmap
Modify > Convert > To Bitmap or Context Menu > Convert > To Bitmap
The Picture toolbar becomes available.
3. Click the left-most icon on the Picture toolbar - "Magic Wand".
Undock toolbar "Graphic Filter"
4. Click the icon "Color" on the Picture toolbar.
Color toolbar appears.
5. Now deselect your shape. You will notice TWO "optical glitches":
- Graphic Filter toolbar: one icon, "Mosaic", is not greyed out
(issue 128289)
- Color toolbar - all icons are not greyed out.
There is however difference between Graphic Filter toolbar and Color
toolbar: clicking "Mosaic" icon produces no visible effect, whereas
clicking Color toolbar icons may grey out some of them
(in attached screenshot you will see 3 examples).
6. Reselect your shape
All "optical glitches" - for obvious reason - dissapper.
--------- TEST no. 2 ---------------------------------------------
1. in Impress or Draw open new document and draw a shape
2. Convert it to bitmap
Modify > Convert > To Bitmap or Context Menu > Convert > To Bitmap
The Picture toolbar becomes available.
3. Click the icon "Color" on the Picture toolbar.
Color toolbar appears.
4. Dock Color toolbar.
5. Deselect your shape.
6. Icons are not greyed out. In contrast to effect described in
TEST no. 1 clicking any icon does not cause greying out.
7. if you Undock Color toolbar or re-dock it, all controls become greyed
out.
--------- TEST no. 3 ---------------------------------------------
1. in Impress or Draw open new document and draw a shape
2. Convert it to bitmap
Modify > Convert > To Bitmap or Context Menu > Convert > To Bitmap
The Picture toolbar becomes available.
3. Click the icon "Color" on the Picture toolbar.
Color toolbar appears.
4. Deselect your shape
(as in TEST no. 1 icons are not greyed out and clicking them
may "grey out" some of them)
5. Dock Color toolbar.
6. All controls are greyed out - this is PROPER BEHAVIOUR.
--------- TEST no. 4 ---------------------------------------------
5. Click "Color" icon in Picture toolbar.
Color toolbar disapears.
6. Click "Color" icon again.
Picture toolbar disappers - this is clearly WRONG BEHAVIOUR.
7. Click anywhere on the work area except for selected shape.
Color toolbar reappears (icons not greyed out)
And now finally consider 4 scenarios. Shaped is select, criterion is clicking
"Color" icon:
A. Picture toolbar docked, Color toolbar undocked
- clicking twice "Color" con - OK
B. Picture toolbar undocked, Color toolbar undocked
- clicking twice icon "Color" icon - OK
C. Picture toolbar docked, Color toolbar docked
- clicking twice "Color" icon - WRONG (scenario in TEST 4)
D. Picture toolbar undocked, Color toolbar docked
- clicking twice "Color" icon - OK
