For additional context, the production failure was observed on HDFS during a lookup join refresh. `FileIO#exists` threw an `IOException` while checking: ``` hdfs://<nameservice>/<warehouse>/<table>/snapshot/snapshot-2 ``` `SnapshotManager` wrapped the failure in a `RuntimeException`. The snapshot was confirmed to exist, and the same lookup succeeded without data or code changes after HDFS recovered. This is consistent with a transient HDFS availability failure rather than a missing snapshot. The available log excerpt did not include the concrete `IOException` subtype.
