SQLContext at main a939bf70 has the following gap:
Common SQL names split, locate, date, typeof, hex, unhex, size and hour are
not registered in SQLContext. Some require semantic adapters rather than simple
aliases.
Reproduction (with the referenced catalog/table registered when needed):
```sql
SELECT split('a,b,c', ',', 2);
SELECT locate('a', 'ba');
SELECT hex('abc'), unhex('616263');
SELECT size(ARRAY[1,2]), hour(TIME '12:34:56');
```
Expected behavior: support these SQL forms with explicit type, NULL and
error semantics, meaningful regression tests, and existing catalog
authorization/error propagation.
