Personally I can see pros and cons for each approach and agree either is better than the status quo. I'll just point out that if speed is of the essence then the current proposal already has 3 open source implementations and AFAICT is in a state it can be voted on and adopted quickly. Kicking off another round of discussions will likely delay roll out by at least a few months. > But I guess we now should at least get an informal vote going to see where the majority opinion resides on this. I like this idea. If there are PMC members who would veto this PR, it's better to know now rather than after a few more months of discussion.
