In our environment we generally see write hot spotting when the rowkeys are 
sequentially increasing (the last column of the PK is strictly increasing while 
the leading columns are constant) in which case they always hit a single region 
server. Its not clear to me if id_1 is constant and id_2 is random if you would 
get write hotspotting, did you see this on a cluster and then decide to use 
salted tables?
